In the pursuit of optimum exhaust performance, the catalytic convertor was a big challenge. As exhaust gas efficiency is increased, emissions and sound levels tend to increase also. HKS conducted extensive testing with it’s own in house exhaust emissions device and built a great knowledge base in which it now bases it’s current range of catalytic converters on. The result is a 150cell catalytic converter that excels in both exhaust gas flow and emission reduction properties.
By using an oval design, which is used by many manufacturers as standard items on cars, the cell area is increased compared to round type designs helping to further reduce emissions. The 150 cell design gives a good balance between exhaust gas flow performance and emissions reduction. The fins have been designed at 0.1mm in order to increase durability. All vehicle specific kits are simple bolt on fitment with universal applications available for custom exhaust setups in both oval and round type.
Most catalytic converter applications adhere to Japanese emission standards but there is no guarantee of compatibility with the legal emission standards outside of Japan. |
